I hope that you are as excited about homecoming 2024 as the House Corporation Board. This year we will hold our usual homecoming meeting; however, we also invite you to attend and tour the house to see what you have accomplished. Yes, you. Without your contributions, we would not have the remodeled kitchen, first floor bathroom, and the bathroom on the second floor. You have done an outstanding job and we cannot wait for you to see it!
With the majority of the renovation behind us and just a few small tasks to be completed, we are now entering Phase II, and most likely the most relevant phase for the alumni, replacing the driveway. If you have visited the house lately, then you understand. If you haven’t, then you will appreciate this project. The driveway, being thirty nine years old, is in desperate need of replacement. It has become a liability that could lead to medical bills and insurance liability lawsuits as students walk up and down visiting events at the house. It’s also hell on suspension systems. It is imperative that we address this problem and patching is no longer the solution. It is time for a replacement.
To complete the driveway replacement, we need to raise $45,000. If we are able to fund this, we intend on replacing the entire driveway before homecoming in early November. If you are able to make a donation, please do so as soon as possible. Keep in mind that donations contributed via the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation are 100% tax deductible. For those of you who can benefit from the tax benefits of dealing with Required Minimum Distributions, this is an excellent way to reduce your tax liability. If you need additional information, please contact Samir Hafiz, Mike DeMatteo, or myself and we will help.
